My first KAL

KAL for those not-in-the-know is a Knit-along. The one I am joining is called the “Naked Stix in 2006″ (see the button on the left). It is more for the knitter that has too many projects going at once, but I have actually not that many. Only four projects I can think of. One is a sweater that must be completely torn out (frogged), a baby hat, a scarf and a hallowig (for Purim). Hopefully this will inspire me to get these projects done and start moving on the next batch.

Winter Chocolates

One thing about the Israeli food market that I like is the relationship to chocolate. In the states you get new candy bars now and again, and even new varieties of older chocolates.

But Israel…well, they have new versions of candy bars and chocolate bars for every SEASON. Yes you read that right…seasonal chocolate bars. Elite has just come out with three new cream filled chocolate bars for the winter. Here are the reviews from me. If you would like me to send you one, please help me with the website problem listed below (I know techies respond well to food.)

The first one was milk chocolate with sachlav (orchid) cream. It tasted more like coconut to me, but it was quite yummy. The second one was milk chocolate with Cider & Cinnamon cream. It was kind of apple/cinnamon tasting. The third and best was dark chocolate with Chocolatte cream. I have no idea what Chocolatte is, but it was dark and rich and creamy and made my taste buds stand on end! They are so rich and creamy that I can’t eat too much at one time, but they are great.

If I find a picture of them, I promise to add it to the entry.

A Bit about my workplace

My new job is at the Steven Spielberg Jewish Film Archive which is located at Hebrew University, Mount Scopus Campus. So far it is going well. I get to watch films about Israel and Jews. This can be interesting when viewing movies about the history of Israel, or it can be depressing when watching the Eichmann Trials.

I was involved with the final proof-reading of the new website (see link above). Currently the site doesn’t work properly in Firefox. If someone can give me a reasonable solution to the problem, I will reward you with chocolate. (See next post for specifics.) I will ship worldwide.

No teeth have yet come out of my girls’ mouths, but this is something I really fear. Now the GatorGripper® - bringing baby tooth removal into the 21st Century looks like a perfect solution…I think I still have another year or two though.

Barbie Dolls and New Orleans

This is an odd one, but it is good for a laugh. We don’t have Barbies here, (my preference) but if we did, I’m sure they would be naked too.
